Root Mean Square Error Estimation of Deformation Monitoring with Abnormal Value

Owing to the abnormal phenomenon existed in the long-term deformation data series of dam safety monitoring,the root mean square error(RMSE) of deformation monitoring can not be directly calculated with the Bessel formula.Therefore,the applicative condition of the Bessel formula is analyzed for the RMSE calculation of dam monitoring deformation and the RMSE calculation method of deformation with abnormal values is put forward by using monitoring mathematical model.Two practical examples of the RMSE calculation are given with sudden change and trend variation conditions in monitoring deformation,respectively.Thus,it provides a new and practical method for accurate assessment of long-term dam monitoring deformation.
