Applications of RFID Technology in Intelligent Museums

The intelligentization of museum buildings is an important aspect in the research of intelligent building.In this paper we discuss the RFID technology and its applications to intelligent museums.By means of assigning RFID tags to the collections and visitors and establishing RFID sensors in the storeroom,entrance guard and exhibition areas,we implement the application of collection management and portable navigation system.The two systems have been used in Shenzhen Museum and China Maritime Museum and made great effectiveness.
