Analysis and Improvement of Virtual Fault-tolerant Routing Protocol

Qian Li · Communications technology · 2011

The existing virtual fault-tolerant routing protocols, particularly the VRRP and HSRP protocols are described, their principles and applications are analyzed.Based on this,it is found that these protocols could not make full use of the physical routers in the realization of the redundant fault-tolerance.By taking advantage of these routing equipment, and making use of the exiting lines and technology the static and dynamic load-sharing of traffic is achieved, and is compatible with these standards. These improvements could realize the full use of existing networks, better the network environment, without any replacement of the existing agreement.
