The Application of GIS in the Informatization of Water Conservancy of Xinjiang Corps

With the comprehensive development of social economy in the Xinjiang Corps,the informatization of water conservancy is very important for sustainable use of limited water resources.This paper introduced the development and application of the geographic information system,expounded the present situation and problems of water conservancy informatization of Xinjiang Corps,and analyzed the application trend of GIS in the water conservancy informatization.It particularly discussed the open share,water resources management,flood control and disaster mitigation,soil and water conservation,and hydropower engineering construction in Xinjiang Corps.
