Insulation character of GIS equipment determines sensibility of different test voltage waveform for different insulation defect.It is comparatively valid of withstand voltage test for catching insulation dielectric fault,and impulse voltage test is rather effective for discovering insulator surface contamination and conducting burr.After finishing GIS equipment installation,the field impulse voltage test should be completed after field AC voltage withstand test.
