AN INVESTIGATION ON THE STRUCTURE OF MULTISTAGE INTERCONNECTION NETWORKS

In order to expand the function of the existing blocking-type multistage interconnection networks, some schemes of changing their structure to the comhinatorial-type, the bidirectional-type and the complementary-type ones are proposed, and in addition, their corresponding control algorithms are also presented. The three kinds of network,given above possess the function of performing arbitrary permutations in two passes, in particular, permutations in parallel processing can be rapidly and efficiently performed.
