In the development of data exchange technology, the research was focused on the realization of the data exchange technology, and ignored that data was the core in the data exchange.Research of the data in the life cycle in the data exchange process become the core. Therefore, the research on data exchange technology based on datasets is introduced, used the metadata model to record the circulation state of data in the whole life of the data exchange;analysises the data exchange technology. The key is how to maintain the integrity and consistency and designs the mapping rules based on XML,meets the integrity of the data between the source database and target database. The innovation points are that datasets are used in the data exchange.
