Research on Ontology Mapping Evolution

Ontology mapping evolution is one of the important subjects of ontology.This paper gives the formal definitions of ontology and ontology mapping at first,then the methods for mapping evolution after changing of ontology are discussed.The changes of ontology are classified into three types: deletion,addition and modification.Then,three new mapping evolution algorithms according to the three different types are presented.The results of experiments prove that the new algorithms can resolve the problem of ontology mapping evolution basically.At the end of the paper,some remaining challenges are discussed and some future research directions are pointed out.
