Maneuverability Analysis of Reentry Vehicles Based on Moving Centroid Control Mode

Fengqi Zhou · Aerospace Control · 2009

Moving centroid control for reentry vehicles is used to realize the maneuvering control by changing the center of mass of reentry vehicles and aerodynamic trim torque,so as to adjust the flying attitude and angle of attack. The disadvantages of traditional pneumatic actuator control for reentry vehicles are overcome including rudder surface ablation when flied at high speeds.Based on the foundation of building up dynamic equations of the moving centroid, the dynamic equations are simplified, and the dynamic and kinetic equations in vertical plane are gained,so that the normal overload of reentry vehicles can be calculated on condition of different displacement of moving mass by simulating software. These researches provide a necessary theoretic reference for designing control system of moving centroid reentry vehicles.
