Image Retrieval Based on Improved SIFT Descriptor

This paper researches into the Content-Based Image Retrieval.The SIFT descriptor is invariant to image scale and rotation,and is shown to provide robust matching across a substantial range.But the SIFT descriptor does not involve color and global information of feature point which provides powerfully distinguishable signals in feature description and matching tasks.This paper presents an improved descriptor based on SIFT by integrating color and global information with it.Experimental results indicate that the retrieval has a good performance.
