The Batch Clone for the Computer System Based on the IP Multicasting Technology
Yao Zhan-chun · 2004
The IP multicasting technology provides an effective transmission mode in which the same data is transmitted from one sender to a group of receivers. The technology efficiently avoids the network congestion, saves the bandwidth, and optimizes the network performance. This article introduces the fundamental principles and methods on how to use the IP multicasting technology of the Norton Ghost software aiming at realizing the batch clone for the computer system. A suggested example is also given on the application of this technology together with the DHCP service of the Windows 2000 server to batch clone the computer system.
