Study on Iris Patterns Segmentation Technology for Gabor Energy Filter

In order to segment the iris patterns from an eye picture quickly and conveniently,this paper treats the Gabor energy operator which was formerly used to simulate the complex cells in primary visual cortex as an eye picture filter function.Through non-CRF inhibiting,and analyzing and optimizing related function parameters,the experiment indicates that this method can distinguish the pupil texture from an eye picture much better,thus can implement the iris texture extraction conveniently,simplify the procedure of the iris recognition system,and improve its processing speed.
