Introduction of Passive Microwave-AMSR-E and Their Research and Application Fields

This paper mainly introduces the characters of three passive micro-wave data (SMMR, SSM, AMSR). Because the AMSR-E absorbs the advantages of the previous micro-wave radiometer, so we concentrate on introduction of the AMSR-E with detail.. On the other hand, we also introduce and analyze the main research field of passive micro-wave AMSR-E data. Because the passive micro-wave data owes many advantages over the other (VIR and TIR), therefore the passive microwave will get more use in the research of soil moisture, vegetation, ocean, atmosphere, cloud etc.
