Current and future trends in the investigation of marine drugs

This report details the current and future trends in the investigation of marine drugs. Currently,more than 14,500 of marine compounds with various types of chemical skeletons have been isolated from diversity of marine organisms,of which 20 are in clinical development. The further exploration of marine drugs will increasingly depend not only upon innovative methodology and unmet need,but also upon synergies what else is available,and what else is being developed.
