Design and implementation of data access tier of web-based information system

As most of the web-based information systems(WIS) need access the persistent data resource now,and each data source has specific ways to access data,it becomes more and more important to implement and encapsulate the data access in order to construct stable,robust and flexible web applications.Based on the analysis of the deployment of a real web-based information system,on how to use singleton,data access object(DAO) and abstract factory patterns to design the architecture of data access tier which ensures a simple way to access multiple and parallel data sources is explained,and questions about the architecture are also analyzed.
