The Bottom Structure,Traction Relationship and Application in Dynamics of the Copper Chariots Excavated in Emperor Qin's Tomb

Dang Shi-xue · Journal of Xianyang Normal University · 2007

The copper chariots excavated in Emperor Qin's Tomb were faithfully modeled after the real ones in the Qin Dynasty and is a classic material for the research of ancient chariots.Based on the principle of dynamics, issues concerning the application of dynamics are studied with the scientific notions contained in it revealed through the examination and analysis of the chariots and their bottom structure, the assembly of axles and shafts, and traction relationship. In the meantime, the U-shaped suspenders originally named co-driving hangers are explained in a novel perspective as far as name interpretation and application are concerned with significant roles of this component analyzed in terms of such controlling techniques as downhill braking, braking to a halt, and swerving to turn around.
