Motivation for the Individuation and the Referential Function of Numeral-Quantifiers

Numeral and quantifier are two categories with great individuation,yet the relevant studies on the textual referential function of numeral-quantifiers generated from their basic function are rather limited.Based on cognitive grammar and thecoercioneffects of the relevant construction,the paper firstly elaborates the basic semantics and syntactic variations of numerals,then discusses the basic function and cognitive basis of qualifiers,and finally explores motivation for the textual referential function and individuation of numeral-qualifiers.
