Pattern discovery based on MAMIS

The elementary database of maritime accidents(MAMIS) was fully developed by collecting,sorting,statistics and analysis of a large number of real maritime accidents in different sea areas and Yangtze river waters.As a result, the MAMIS was used as the data source of data mining and the algorithm of association rules was introduced to explore the knowledge in accordance with actual regulars so as to discover the preferential information and accident pattern behind a great quantity of maritime casualties.Consequently,the corresponding rules were obtained.Simulation shows that technique of data mining is effective and prospective in marine safety research,which provides quantitative and qualitative supporting grounds for planning departments and so on.
