Nonlinear Filter Methods for Image Denoising in Digital Radiography

Several typical nonlinear denoising methods for digital radiographic information processing were introduced, including median filter, homomorphic filter, wavelet denoising and morphologic filter. The major objective was to illustrate the superb performance of nonlinear filters and to supply a reference to processing radiographic images. Their performances were analyzed and compared in restoring the images corrupted by the same complex noise. Some novel approaches were mentioned.
