On the Using of Archives in the Qing Dynasty in Tusi System Research

In view of the present studies of Tusi System there are some tendencies of neglecting archives,especially using the archives of the Qing Dynasty,this paper,based on a large number of examples,discusses the importance of archives of the Qing Dynasty in the study of Tusi system.The archives of the Qing Dynasty not only provide first hand information in the study of Tusi system,but also provide the precious historical literature which is not available on the other documents.Making full use of archives of Qing Dynasty will have breakthrough on the study of the chieftain system,and can correct the previous studies of some views and understanding.At the same time,using archives of the Qing Dynasty must aware the limitations of archives and identify the authenticity of archives.
