Efficient Certificate-based Encryption Scheme

Xiao Jun-mo, Pla Uni · 2009

The certificate-based encryption(CBE) is a new PKC paradigm which combines traditional public-key encryption(PKE) and identity based encryption(IBE) while preserving their features.CBE provides an efficient implicit certification mechanism for a PKI and allows a form of automatic certificate revocation, while it is not subjected to the private key escrow problem and secret key distribution problem inherent in IBE.This paper presented an efficient pairing-based CBE scheme and proved it to be IND-CBE-CCA secure in the random oracle model based on the hardness of the p-BDHI problem.Compared with other existing CBE schemes, this scheme has obvious advantage in the computation performance.
