Data Collection and Processing System Design for Forest Inventory Based on Embedded GIS

The designing and implementation of a forest inventory system based on GIS、GPS and PDA were introduced.Several key problems of the overall frame,functional design and software development were described.The disadvantages of the traditional data collection was over come,the automation and paperless of forest inventory were realized.The results of application also indicated that using this developed system,both precision and efficiency can be enhanced significantly.
