A Study of the Paradoxes in Decision-making Logic
Pan Tian-qun · 2006
Scholars in logic,decision-making,game theories, and social sciences are now paying more and more attention to decision-making logic. The base of social sciences,decision-making logic investigates how an agent-or agents-makes inference in decision-making process. However, there exist some paradoxes in decision making logic, such as the Allais paradox and exchange paradox in expected utility theory, backward induction paradox and GaifmannKoons paradox originated from Newcomb problem in interactions, the famous Arrow voting paradox in group decision-making.Studying and dissolving of these paradoxes will promote the development of decision-making logic as well as social sciences.
