Second time penetration of earth-penetrating model projectile in rock medium

The penetration formula in the current standard of China is based on the common types of projectile,whether it suits the new types of earth-penetrating projectiles or not.In order to investigate the problems,the functional relation of scale penetration depth with projectile body parameters and rock parameters was established,based on the similarity criterion,with the dimensional analysis method.Through the statistic analysis of the data of the model tests,a new empirical formula for calculating the penetration depth of earth-penetrating projectiles in rock medium was presented.Based on this new empirical formula,a second-time-penetration formula,used to calculate the second time penetration depth in the damaged rock by the first time penetration and explosion was also obtained.
