Packet Loss Concealment Techniques for VoIP

Speech quality of VoIP may potentially be degraded by transmission errors such as packet loss and delay,which are basically inevitable in best-effort communications.In many VoIP systems,the end-to-end voice quality of service(QoS) is largely dictated by the packet loss rate and the packet loss concealment(PLC) method at the receiver.In this paper,mechanism of packet loss was described,several current concealment techniques for packet loss were discussed.
