Design and Analysis of System Generator-based FIR Filter

Based on XilinxSystem Generator for DSP tools,and for analysis of thedesign and implementation for FIR Filteron the FPGA hardware platform,this paper describes an 18-band FIR digital low-pass filter experiment, then analyzes the filtering effect and resource utilization,and tells of how to choose the best method with different FPGA chips and different hardware resources.Finally it summarizes that the packaged Ipcore is thebest choice in filter design,which is easy in reduction of proccessing time and effective in utilization of hardware resources.
