Support vector machines(SVM),a new learning machinery,is advantageous in dealing with small sample,nonlinear and high dimensional mode recognition.As the formation process of runoff is uncertain and complicated,long-term forecast method for runoff based on SVM comes into being.Related studies show that this method is feasible with high degree of accuracy and reliability.
