The error of traditional rotary speed measurement methods, such as pulse-counting method, software counting method and spectral analysis method, were analyzed. The conclusion is that the angle error and quantized error are relative big,and the instant tachometric survey is not precise.A new high-precision measurement methods was proposed combining hardware and software methods. The dual-sensor were used to diminish angle error.Hardware counting method was adopted to measure the average rotation rate and counting error was decreased.Interpolation method was applied to accurately find zero-cross points and the transient speed was calculated. The experimental results show that using this method, the measured transient speed and average speed are accurate. It has the characteristics of double-precision guarantee, minimum error and strong interference immunity.
