Wireless Mesh Networks(WMN) contains not only the characteristics of wireless networks but also multi-hop,self-organizing,self-configuring,and so on.A topology-aware clustering algorithm(TCA) is introduced for WMN which can select the cluster head, node location information through the use of clustering to reduce the overhead, and the election of cluster head nodes, and by cluster head as Mesh routing functions and duties. All CH interconnection constitute main paging tree, mesh terminal can be through CH backbone paging tree, paging to base station BS,At the same time BS by backbone paging several soon orientation to the mesh terminals.Tree with trunk paging signaling transfer will greatly improve the efficiency of the entire distribution network. The good performance of this strategy is proved by theoretical analysis. The results of numerical analysis shows that based on TCA can significantly reduces paging cost and time delay, improve system performance.Meanwhile routing ability of mesh routing for enhanced connectivity and expand WMN coverage, reduce the system paging cost significantly.
