The Enlightening Messages from the Privatization of British SOEs for the Reforms of Chinese SOEs

In 1980's the British government launched a large scale campaign to reform the state-owned enter-prises (SOEs). By the middle of 1990's almost all of the SOEs in Britain had been smoothly privatized. Withthe analysis of the main experiences of the British privatization, the social causes for, and the necessary con-ditions of the smooth complementation of this privatization, this paper tries to reveal some valuable messagesfrom the success of British privatization for promoting the reforms of SOEs in our country.
