Optimization of PVDF/PMMA alloy membrane preparation conditions by Random-Design and SAS

Tang Guang · Jisuanji yu yingyong huaxue · 2004

By random-design with aid of computer and the analysis using the Statistical Analysis System(SAS)software, the prepara-tion conditions of polyvinylidene fluoride(PVDF)/polymethyl methacrylate(PMMA)alloy membranes by means of phase inversionwere optimized. As a result,a fairly reliable multivariate linear regression model about the relationship between the alloy membranes'performance(the mean pore size of the membrane skin and membranes' pure water flux)and its major influencing factors was ob-tained.According to the model, the membranes' pure water flux can be increased 95% while the mean pore size reduced from 0.40μmto 0.24μm,which means that the alloy membranes' permeability and selectivity can be raised at the same time.
