Directory organization in shared-memory multi-processor
Lunguo Xie · Jisuanji gongcheng · 2004
Most DSM(Distributed Shared Memory) systems use directory-based cache-coherent protocols. We introduced and compared some typical directory organization schemes, then presented a new two-layer directory organization scheme. The first layer was bit vector directory and the second layer was limited pointers directory. The analysis shows that this new scheme has the better property than any one of the former schemes, and is suitable for very-large multi-processor systems.
