Motion Estimation Algorithm Based on Adaptive Search Pattern

This paper proposes a motion estimation algorithm based on adaptive search pattern.The non-zero movement blocks are subdivided into three types of large,medium and small blocks,and three searching templates including hexagonal,large diamond and small diamond are proposed for blocks motion estimation.Experimental results show that the new search algorithm reduces the search points,so that it ensures the accuracy of motion estimation while reducing the complexity of the algorithm to improve search efficiency.
