An Introduction to Application of the Cognitive Radio in Military Communication

Without special authorized,cognitive radio can dynamically share the wireless spectrum resource through accessing the authorized frequency band by virtue of spectrum sensing and other techniques.It can extremely improve the efficiency of the wireless spectrum usage and the capabilities of the communication system.It must be impact the wireless communication profoundly,especially military communication.In this paper,the background of the cognitive radio is introduced firstly.Then,some key techniques of the cognitive radio are simply described,such as spectrum sensing,location awareness,link maintenance and spectrum pooling.The application and advantages of the cognitive radio used in military communication are emphases discussed.Finally,some challenges and trends of the military cognitive radio in the future are presented.
