Example-Based Style Translation and Customization for Line Drawings

This paper presents an example based method for translating and customizing a line drawing into various styles. For one or several given examples, a target picture can be translated into the style of one example in different extent and moreover, the style of the target picture can be further customized into different styles similar to the examples. The method translate a target picture into the style of examples interactively by subdivision of strokes. Furthermore, a simple interactive style customizing method is provided by interpolation of styles. Comparing to previous methods, the proposed method needs much fewer example strokes and has much more flexibilities on style translation with interactive control by users.
