The software industry is the core and soul of the information industry,the basic and strategic industry of national economic development,and the key to information technology.However,with the rapid development of the software industry,software piracy has become increasingly serious threat to the software industry.The paper made an empirical analysis on the effects of copyright protection on software piracy based on the analysis of 56 Sample countries,The outcome revealed that the elasticity coefficient of strength of copyright protection on software piracy is 0.524.
