Rationality of Inductive Reasoning in the Game Logic

HE Shou-nan · 2004

The problem of the rationality of inducing was first raised by David Hume. Philosophers and logicians have since tried to find out different ways to solve the problem. This article analyses the rationality of inductive reasoning from the perspective of the game logic. It shows that inductive reasoning is rational because of some common knowledge we share and of a tactful equilibrium we reach after several rounds of a game.
