Application of OLAP in Preference Evaluation Analysis on National College Entrance Examination and Admission

The rationality of Preference scheme in National College Entrance Examination and Admission and whether the scheme can meet the requirements of candidates especially those with high scores to its maximum has attracted close attention from all aspects involved.Based on admission data accumulated over the years,the authors use the technology of Data Warehouse and OLAP in SQL SERVER 2008 to evaluate the rationality of parallel preference scheme in use.Based on the evaluation,a conclusion has been reached that the parallel ways have enhanced Preference Coverage Rate on the first preference,and at the same time,provided protection for candidates with high scores.Such an evaluation approach can be generalized for other purposes.
