Real-time stream media transmission control is one of the most important technologies in video surveillance systems. The most concerned issue of stream media transmission is the quality of service(Qos).Different from ordinary transmission, the stream media transmissions not only need strong real-time transmission and avoid transmission delay, but also will be subject to limited network equipment resource. In this paper,a stream media transmission control method based on RTP / RTCP protocol is proposed. Its purpose is to get the best quality of transmission for stream media. The RTP/RTCP protocol is used to obtain network parameters and information. The network can be adjusted dynamically according to the feedback. It will avoid the transmission delay jitter, reduce the packet loss rate and prevent network congestion. Based on the analysis of network situation,an effective control method of stream media transmission is proposed. This method will improve the quality of image transmission.
