Research on TCP Congestion Control Algorithm Based on Time Stamp in Satellite Network

There are some shortages existed in TCP congestion control mechanism when it is deployed in satellite network directly. According to the characteristics of satellite network , the longer propagation delay and the more complex conditions, an improved TCP retransmission and congestion control algorithm based on TCP time stamp extension option is designed and implemented in this paper. The algorithm can forecast network situation by RTT(Round Trip Time) estimation, then start the retransmission in time and adjust the window size. At last the improved algorithm's performance is validated by the simulations.
