EAR RECOGNITION BASED ON THE PRINCIPAL COMPONENT ANALYSIS

Chengyang Zhang · Journal of Beijing Technology and Business University · 2005

As a new biometrics technique, the research of ear recognition is still at the premature stage. This paper applies the Principal Component Analysis(PCA) into the human ear recognition. The BP neural networks and the nearest scopes approach are used for classification. It also provides detailed network design and performance analysis. The experimental results indicate that PCA can achieve satisfactory results combined with appropriate network type, structure and sufficient number of training samples.
