Line Extraction Based on Edge Direction

Investigates a fast algorithm of line feature extraction.Divides the edge into several sub-edges in one direction and detect lines from sub-edges according to the line extraction criterions.Then merges the lines that conform to the incorporation criterion.The line features and their parameters are accurately obtained.Simulation results indicate that the proposed algorithm is more precise,speedier and reliable in line extraction than with the Hough transform.
