Metadata is used to describe the data or documents of data structure in application, namely, the data about data, and is the kernel of Data ETL. The function of metadata in Data ETL is analyzed. Metadata model is constructed. Design principle and step of metadata management system, which is of comprehensive flexibility, favorable expansibility and repetition, is put forward.
