Target Detection Research on Bus Passenger Flow Counting

This paper is the research on the passenger flow counting under China's bad traffic environment. A method for detecting passengers getting on and off the bus was proposed. It first extracted the whole motive objects from the original image and then segmented each targets within the motive objects region using improved watershed integrated with feature analysis. Experimental results show that the method can effectively detect the targets even the people lean on each other. However, it is not that effective if the people are totally in the same color. It entails the combination of subsequent tracing method.
