Objective To investigate the application and clinical value of color Doppler ultrasound in the the diagnosis of cavernous transformation of the portal vein(CTPV).Methods Color Doppler ultrasound was used to observe and analyse the two-dimensional ultrasound images and blood flow conditions of portal vein system and peripheral related organs in the patients with CTPV.Results CTPV had the characteristic performance of ultrasound, which conformed to the angiography or MRI or operation with accurate and reliable diagnosis. The secondary change was portal hypertension syndrome. Conclusion Color Doppler ultrasound can objectively reflect the site, nature and blood flow characteristics of CTPV and has important value to diagnosis and differential diagnosis of CTPV,which can be used as the first choice of examination methods to diagnose CTPV and provide the reliable basis for formulating the clinical treatment regimen.
