Fade Wang · Journal of Huaihua University · 2009
As a definition in the information theory, redundency rule requires that in the transference and transformation of information, the original information will be extended so that the receiver can understand it easily and get the explicit information. In essence, translation is also a kind of transference and transformation of information because translation is a kind of language transforming activity involving the source text and target language reader. In order to guarantee the accuracy and integrity of the source information in translation,we can draw on and make use of the Redundency Rule.
