Mechanism of Header Compression over AODV-based MANET

Mobile ad hoc networks transfer a large number of multimedia data,so it is necessary to utilize wireless channel efficiently. By integrating ROHC with AODV,an appropriate mechanism HC-AODV is proposed. It extends the AODV routing protocol,so route discovery and the configuration of ROHC parameters could be finished simultaneously; and the format of the packets,working of the sender and receiver ,and the maintenance of the context are also amended. Simulation results show that the mechanism could utilize the available bandwidth effectivetly.
