NTCIP-based Communication Bandwidth Calculated for Traffic Control Systems

Beijing is conducting modern traffic control system development. From previous experience, the openness, expendability and interoperatibility of the system will be deteriorated badly unless some standards are followed. So Beijing Traffic Management Bureau (BTMB) decided to develop their new system under certain standards. However, although some countries have issued relative standards, their Chinese counterpart is still in the process of being developed. Therefore, BTMB considered the feasibility to adopt NTCIP standards of US. This paper addresses one of paramount issues during system designing- telecommunication bandwidth analysis, which will be calculated based on the BTMB’s functional requirements. At last, it draws a conclusion that could promote the system development.
