A Method for Digital Elevation Model Data Lossless Compression

DEM is an important data source of computer visualizationa,nd the size of the data is huge.Data compression can reduce the transferring time and disk space.In this paper,we pro-pose the least square predictive model and arithmetic to implement the average code of DEM.We also compare several algorithms and draw our method is effective and have good perfor-mance.
