Inter-prediction creates a prediction model from one or more previously encoded video frames or fields using block-based motion compensation.This kind of prediction tries to take advantage from temporal redundancy between neighboring frames allowing to achieve higher compression rates,gives the basic predictors adopted in interframe encoding process.
